TMZ is reporting that production company Halcyon Studios, is planning to make an Amy Winehouse biopic but Amy’s father, Mitch, says it’s not gonna happen.
Mitch says Halcyon hasn’t secured the proper licenses to produce the film nor have they reached out to him for permission to use his daughter’s image.
Daphne Barak, who wrote 2010’s “Saving Amy” for which a documentary was based, says the project isn’t a biopic, but her story using her footage of herself with Amy and Bill Guasti.
Mitch is calling BS and says there is an official biopic in the works with a large UK production company and Universal Records. Filming for the project is expected to start next year.
