“What advice would you have to give this generation?” an interviewer is heard asking the legendary poet. “Tell the truth, to yourself first, and to the children,” Angelou responds as the trailer transitions to Coachella footage.
The Homecoming trailer features the late Maya Angelou speaking over footage of Bey preparing for her show. The one minute and 43-second clip also shows Blue Ivy perfectly executing her mama’s Coachella choreography while practicing alongside Bey and her dancers. And if that wasn’t enough to get you excited for the upcoming film, the trailer also gave a few glimpses of Bey’s twins Rumi and Sir.
“Homecoming presents an intimate look at Beyoncé’s historic 2018 Coachella performance that paid homage to America’s historically black colleges and universities,” Netflix said in their caption of the trailer. “Interspersed with candid footage and interviews detailing the preparation and powerful intent behind her vision, Homecoming traces the emotional road from creative concept to cultural movement.”
The Film will be available to watch on Netflix April 17.
