Lady Gaga Opened Up About Her Upcoming Album

Lady Gaga opened up to Beat 1’s Zane Lowe about her new album, Chromatica. The singer says the album centers around “extremely painful heartbreak,” and says she is “reclaiming the dance floor because she earned it,” as she discusses the single, Stupid Love.

Gaga survived two breakups, she was engaged to Taylor Kinney then to Christian Carino, and a sexual assault. Gaga says Chromatica has been a healing space for her.

“In the middle of the record ‘Fun Tonight,’ which is a song that means a lot to me, and every time I listened to it, I get choked up because I can’t tell you how many nights that people that really love me were trying to get me to smile or laugh or be optimistic, and I just had no ability to be happy,” says Gaga leading to her questioning why the music sounds happy on the album.

Chromatica was supposed to be released last month, however, due to the health crisis has been pushed back to May 29th. “Rain On Me” is the second single from Chromatica, being released on May 22nd.
