Scooter Braun finally addressed the drama surrounding his acquirement of Taylor Swift’s catalog of music and her recent social media posts about the issue.

Braun spoke at the 2019 Entertainment Industry Conference, co-sponsored by Variety and the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, saying that although he hasn’t responded to Taylor’s social media comments he feels that there can be a resolution if conversations are held “behind closed doors.”

“I just think we live in a time of toxic division, and of people thinking that social media is the appropriate place to air out on each other and not have conversations. And I don’t like politicians doing it. I don’t like anybody doing it,” said Braun.

Braun, who manages acts like Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, says if not responding to social media makes him the “bad guy,” then so be it. He believes the issues are due to “miscommunication” and that things have gotten out of hand when “there are death threats and there are offices being called and people being threatened.”
