The Airline Industry Might Go Bankrupt

Airline executives warned U.S. lawmakers on Saturday that ‘time is running out’ to protect the over 750,000 employees in the airline industry during the Coronavirus pandemic.

The industry is seeking $58 billion in aid but promised Saturday that if it could get $29 billion in cash grants, airline employees wouldn’t get furloughed, stock buybacks and dividends would be eliminated and limits would be placed on executive compensation.

Airline unions like the Association of Flight Attendants – CWA have joined the execs in the plead for billions, telling ABC News “This isn’t another bailout” since the money will have to go to payroll and employees.
