With the COVID-19 pandemic running rampant in San Antonio, just about every parade, fireworks show and event in the city has been cancelled. The city of Boerne was the last to cancel their 4th of July festivities with Mayor Tim Handren saying that he is “not excited” about the cancellation of the city’s fireworks show, but still thinks it is the right thing to do. Early on the City of San Antonio cancelled the annual festivities at Woodlawn Park due to the pandemic. So with all the 4th of July cancellations, where CAN you watch fireworks in San Antonio? Here is a list of shows still happening in our area.
Six Flags Fiesta Texas – It looks like the parking lot at La Cantera will be a little busier this year than in years past. Six Flags will have 4th fireworks July 3-5 and starts at 9:15pm.
City of New Bruanfels – Even though New Bruanfels had to cancel their parade due to Coronavirus, the city kept its fireworks show. You can view the fireworks from Landa Park and Landa Park Golf Course, H-E-B at Westpoint Village, Fredricksburg Fields, Oakwood Church, Fischer Park and available via livestream on Facebook and YouTube.
City of Schertz – On Friday Gov. Abbott left it up to each local government on how they want to handle public gatherings and so far, Schertz has decided to continue with their parade and fireworks show. The city did say, that it WILL be different and residents can and should expect it to be like no other in recent years. Unlike in years past, the parade will be going through residential neighborhoods to ensure there is social distancing.
City of Fredricksburg – Even though the parade is cancelled this year, the fireworks show will go on! It begins at 9:30pm.
